On September 10, 2015, at approximately 7:20 am, deputies from the Saline County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the 300 block of Oilwell Road in Traskwood for a shooting.  Upon arrival, the victim, a middle aged woman, was being transported to an area hospital.  The victim appeared to be bleeding from her chest.

The suspect has been identified as Gerald Sanders.  Sanders is a white, male, 51 years of age, 5’7”, 150 lbs, grey hair, grey beard with tattoos on his arms.  Sanders was last seen entering the woods to the rear of the residence.  He was wearing a black t-shirt and blue jeans.

As of this time, the victim has been stabilized and is expected to recover.

Sanders should be considered armed and dangerous.  Neighbors have been asked to remain inside of their homes and contact 911 should they observe Sanders.  The SCSO believes that Sanders is very familiar with the wooded area near and around Oilwell Road.
