In the evening hours of March 31, 2016, Saline County Sheriff's Office (SCSO) Detective Christopher Maher was involved in a single-car accident while operating his assigned SCSO vehicle.  Soon after the accident, he was contacted by the Bryant Police Department and subsequently charged with Driving While Impaired (DWI). 

As a result of the DWI arrest and subsequent charge, Sheriff Rodney Wright immediately placed Detective Maher on Administrative Leave pending an internal investigation.    

Sheriff Wright stated, “I take DWI very seriously and will not condone any one, whether private citizen or SCSO employee, putting lives at risk when operating a motor vehicle while impaired.”
